What is Diagnostics?
Diagnostics is your store's health check — it looks for anything getting in the way of your content working, like a broken install or a disconnected store, and tells you in plain language.
Diagnostics is your store's health check. It looks for anything getting in the way of your content working — a broken install, a store that's come disconnected, a page that didn't publish — and tells you about it in plain language, along with how to put it right.
Here's why it's worth a look now and then: most problems are small and quiet. A single page that didn't install won't shout at you, but Diagnostics catches it so a small thing never turns into a mystery about why traffic isn't growing.
What Diagnostics checks
It runs through the things that need to be healthy for your content to do its job:
- Your store connection — that I still have permission to publish for you.
- Your installs — that every article, collection page, and tool really made it onto your store.
- Your content's health — that nothing's gone missing or stalled along the way.
How to read what it finds
Each item is shown in plain terms, not error codes. A green result means that part is healthy. Anything flagged comes with a short explanation of what's wrong and why it matters, so you're never left guessing what a warning is trying to tell you.
Fixing what it flags
Most flags come with a fix right there — a Retry for a piece that didn't install, or a Reconnect if your store connection dropped. For anything that needs a hand, you can reach me in chat or a real person at matt@runoctopus.com, and we'll sort it out together.
Where to find it
Diagnostics lives in your dashboard. A quick glance whenever your numbers look off — or every now and then for peace of mind — is a good habit, and it keeps your engine running clean.
