What is Watch Us Win AI Search?
A public report from RunOctopus. Every two weeks we ask four AIs the same 65 questions real customers ask, for four businesses, and publish who they named. Good weeks and bad weeks both go up.
How is the test run?
ChatGPT is asked in the real app while logged out. Google's AI Mode, Perplexity and Claude are asked through a search-data service with web search on. Local questions are asked from the business's own town. The question list was locked on October 5, 2026 and never changes.
Why does RunOctopus score zero?
Because that is where it starts. Microsoft's AI quoted RunOctopus pages 131,100 times in three months, but no AI names RunOctopus yet when someone asks who to hire. This report tracks whether that changes.
What counts as being named?
The AI names the business in its answer. If the AI only used the business's web page to write its answer, we count that separately as a source.
