What does Competitors do?
Competitors is me watching the rival stores you name — the content they publish and where they're recommended — so you can see where they're winning and where there's an open lane for you.
Competitors is me keeping an eye on the rival stores you name — watching the content they publish and where they're being recommended — so you can see where they're winning and, more usefully, where there's an open lane you can take. You point me at the competitors that matter, and I do the watching for you.
Here's why that's worth having: most of what your competitors do, you never see. This turns their moves into something you can see, and turns each one into a decision — respond, or let it go.
What I watch
You give me a competitor's store address, and I check it on a regular schedule. When they publish something new — a blog post, a guide, a fresh page — I catch it. I skip the noise (their contact page, refund policy, and the like) so what reaches you is real content, not housekeeping. Add a handful of the competitors who matter most, and I keep watch across all of them.
Spotting the openings
Catching what they publish is only half of it. For each new piece, I weigh whether it's a move worth responding to for your store, and I send you a heads-up so you can decide. Some moves are worth answering; some aren't — and I'll talk it through with you rather than leave you guessing.
How it feeds what I recommend writing
When a competitor is winning a topic you should own, that's a gap — and it goes straight into what I suggest you write next. If I spot an AI assistant recommending a competitor for a question where your store didn't come up, I can tee up the article that closes that gap, ready for your say-so. This is where Competitors and AI Citation Radar meet: one shows who's getting recommended, the other helps you earn the mention.
Alongside Google and AI, never instead
Watching competitors is an "as well as." The point isn't to chase them — it's to see the whole field so your own store gets stronger across both Google and AI search at once. Every gap you close makes you easier to find and recommend everywhere, which ties back to your Discoverability groundwork.
Where to find it
Competitors lives on your AI Intelligence page in the dashboard. Open it, add the stores you want me watching, and I'll bring you their moves and your openings from there.
