What is AI Access?

AI Access checks whether the AI assistants are even allowed to read your store. Sites can block AI crawlers by accident — a stray line in a file called robots.txt, or a sitemap that's missing pages — and if a crawler can't reach you, it can never recommend you. AI Access finds those blocks and helps you open the door.

The AI crawlers this covers

The assistants send out little programs called crawlers to read the web. AI Access knows the major ones — GPTBot (ChatGPT), ClaudeBot (Claude), PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, and others — and checks each one by name, so nothing important is quietly locked out.

What AI Access checks

I read the three things that decide whether AI can reach you: your robots.txt (the file that says who's allowed in), your sitemap (the map of your pages), and your llms.txt (an emerging "here's my content for AI" file). Then I flag any crawler that's blocked and any pages your sitemap is leaving out.

Why being reachable matters

It's the simplest thing in the world and the easiest to miss: if an assistant's crawler can't get to your store, you're invisible to it, no matter how good your content is. Getting reachable is the first, cheapest win in showing up in AI search — a door you don't want left shut.
